Dalston's Nailing It!

Barry M is a brand we often see in our local Boots and Superdrugs but it wasn't until the release of their Textured Nail Effects Paints that Avo learned via a lovely follower on our Facebook page, that Barry M has it's roots in our much loved local market.

50 years ago, Barry Mero the founder of Barry M used to work weekends on his mum's stall in Ridley Road Market.  According to the Guardian; "he bought hair lacquer from the wholesaler and sold it for a profit on the pitch, then
expanded into his own cosmetics company."

He has come a long way since his market stall days and so it is a lovely nod to his past that these nail varnishes are named RIdley Road and Kingsland Road.

The ladies in the Avo Hotel team really like these fresh pastel shades with their gritty finish. They are edgy, funky and interesting just like their namesakes.
