Thank You!
The Avo team would like to thank everyone for the massive support and warm welcome that you extended to the Vinvixen during the official opening weekend!
We all had a lovely day yesterday and it was wonderful to get to meet so many new people and welcome back some old friends of Avo too. We are so happy that everyone enjoyed the samosa chaat, Vinvixen's wines and beers were very well received and that the new outdoor seating was a real hit. We partied into the small hours with our new friends and and we just cannot wait to have more parties and have you all back here soon!

Avo wants the Woodman to come and stay......
....and work and play here forever!
We spied this little fellow frolicking on Vine and we became instant fans.
Woodman is the creation of Ian Padgham who we now consider to be a jolly clever chap indeed. Take a look at this brilliant little works:

A Very Special Invitation
The Avo Hotel and the lovely Vinvixen have been plotting and planning and scheming a veritable cornucopia of fun, (hopefully) sun and frivolity this weekend to celebrate the official opening of the Vinvixen's Liquor Store & Lounge!
We are all very excited and looking forward to welcoming you all.
A little introduction from the Vinvixen:
"Beautiful. Beautiful bottles to enjoy in the lounge or take away with you and delicious nibbles to feast your eyes and tummies upon. I am an irredeemable oenophile and fanatic foodie that has set up a glorious little vinous world in the heart of Dalston where I am regularly on hand to dispense advice (gleaned from 11 years in the wine industry) and help you create knockout pairings. Stop by, buy wine, have a chat, swap bread, you are always welcome at the Vinvixen Liquor Store & Lounge!"

Dalston's Nailing It!
Barry M is a brand we often see in our local Boots and Superdrugs but it wasn't until the release of their Textured Nail Effects Paints that Avo learned via a lovely follower on our Facebook page, that Barry M has it's roots in our much loved local market.
50 years ago, Barry Mero the founder of Barry M used to work weekends on his mum's stall in Ridley Road Market. According to the Guardian; "he bought hair lacquer from the wholesaler and sold it for a profit on the pitch, then
expanded into his own cosmetics company."
He has come a long way since his market stall days and so it is a lovely nod to his past that these nail varnishes are named RIdley Road and Kingsland Road.
The ladies in the Avo Hotel team really like these fresh pastel shades with their gritty finish. They are edgy, funky and interesting just like their namesakes.
